Alma De La Cruz, Licensed Social Worker
You Deserve to Feel Great. I’m Here to Help.
Parenting is never easy—but when your child is struggling with substance use, the journey can feel overwhelming, isolating, and filled with uncertainty. You may be searching for ways to support them while also taking care of yourself, unsure of how to bridge the gap that substance use has created in your relationship. I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to navigate this alone.
As a professional coach specializing in individual, relationship, and parent coaching, I help families foster open, meaningful communication, strengthen their connections, and develop strategies for healing and growth. My goal is to provide you with the tools, confidence, and support needed to navigate this difficult path—so that you can approach it with resilience, clarity, and hope.
My Background
I’m Alma De La Cruz, a lifelong Tucson resident with a deep connection to my community. As an Indigenous Native American with family roots in Mexico, I understand the importance of culture, family, and resilience in shaping our experiences. My journey in education and coaching began with a B.A. in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, followed by a Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University.
For over a decade, I have been helping people recognize and reach their full potential. My experience spans individual, relationship, and parent coaching, always with a focus on creating stronger, healthier connections. Before shifting into coaching full-time, I opened and operated my own Montessori school, where I worked closely with children, parents, and families, fostering learning environments built on trust, respect, and emotional growth.
As a mother of triplets, I deeply understand the challenges and joys of parenting. I have also worked extensively with families navigating crisis situations, supporting parents through the complex emotions that arise when their children struggle with substance use, behavioral challenges, or significant life transitions.
My Approach & Philosophy
Every family’s journey is unique, and so is my approach. I create a supportive, judgment-free space where parents can express their fears, concerns, and hopes openly. Together, we develop personalized strategies that empower you to engage your child in healthy, constructive conversations—conversations that promote healing, mutual understanding, and the reassurance that they are not alone.
I believe that no parent should have to endure this journey in isolation. My work focuses on equipping you with the skills to support your child effectively while also prioritizing your own well-being. Parenting a child struggling with substance use is emotionally taxing, and self-care is not just necessary—it’s essential. When you feel supported and confident in your role, you can create the safety and stability your child needs to heal.
As a lifelong learner, I stay up to date on the latest research and best practices in substance use, family dynamics, and relationship coaching. My work is informed by years of hands-on experience, deep cultural awareness, and an unwavering belief in the strength of families to heal and grow together.
I know that the path ahead may seem uncertain, but I also know that healing is possible. Through open communication, strengthened relationships, and a commitment to mutual understanding, families can not only overcome the obstacles of substance use but emerge stronger than ever.
You are not alone. I am here to guide, support, and walk alongside you on this journey—offering insight, encouragement, and the promise of a brighter future for you and your child.
